God could have given Him a Y Chromosome. We are discussing the Creator of the Universe, not your 5th grade biology teacher. Creating a human with a full set of Chromosomes, but only one human parent isn't difficult for God.
He would have had to given him the entire complement of 23 chromosomes provided by the male, not just the Y. Even my 5th grade biology teacher would know that much. But he would have to be very careful to select genes that would at least give him a passing resemblance to Joseph; otherwise, people would have suspected a bit of hanky-panky on Mary's part. A trivia(l) question this raises: since the Y chromosome is passed down from the father, did God duplicate Joseph's Y chromosome in Jesus? Or did he generate a Y chromosome from scratch? And the same follows for the rest of the chromosomes; did he use Joseph's DNA as a template, or did he generate a special "godly" set of DNA from scratch? |

I think we could all agree that if Jesus was the issue of Mary and God, then He most certainly had VERY abnormal chromosomal irregularites.
After all the average Y chromosomal man can not do the miracles that Jesus is purported to have done. Just adds to the mystery of Christ does it not? Atheists are barking up the wrong tree on this one. A little foolish a discussion I think. |

Hardly. It demonstrates the ridiculousness of the concept. Most intelligent discussion.

If Jesus was a real Jewish person, why believe that he was a bastard? Surely the account of the virgin birth is added to the NT in an attempt to show that he fulfilled badly understood prophecies in the OT. Many liberal xians reject the virgin birth as not worth taking seriously.

If "gahd" (that human fiction)
If "gahd" (that human fiction = what *all* the gods are) had to FAKE-UP that kind of biological hankypanky in order to satisfy the romancatholic sect's (sic) stupid illiterate ignorant fantasies about Where Babies Come From, honeh,
then the alleged reality of the alleged Atonement for Adam's Original Sin is gone down the drain with all the rest of the dogmatic bullshit that the Pope has forbidden are-cees to discuss. JP2 has FORBIDDEN DISCUSSION of how the alleged Incarnation occurred! Thomas Aquinas, and Aristotle before him, DID NOT KNOW about the human ovum; nor about how human reproduction is accomplished; the human egg cell was only discovered less than 2 centuries ago; and those guys's fantastic assertions about all-that will bring tears of hilarity to any biologist's eyes. You can look them up! OF COURSE those ignoramuses who think they run the romancatholic sect (SECT!) cannot now admit that those silly dogmata are bullshit. Those are in the CREED, frchrisesake. If the selfchosen bosses admit those are JUNK, who will ever believe *any* of that trash ever? Oh, YEAH *Ugly Man* in Munich, you can betcher bottom dollar EXcatholics know who Joe Cardinal Rot-singer izz! A major enemy of humankind! Lucky for him & the rest of that crew that their manmade deity doesn't exist, and isn't going to turn up at the LastDay. And Rational BAC, iterating junk assertions isn't going to persuade many participants here; they/we know too much! |

Any discussant here at this thread who is not too-well-informed about human genetics, human chromosomes, human sex determination, etc, and about WHY the RC sect's assertion of the "Virgin Birth" is hilarious bullshit:
Scigirl's ref (at her post a few posts above this-one ) provides EXCELLENT! simply-worded explanations about that! What every 21st century human being need/ought to know, about what's involved in being-human. That's at "Chromosome Abnormalities - Lucile Packards Children's Hospital" aka <http://www.lpch.org/DiseaseHealthInf.../chromhub.html> Unless you think you can convince by arguing from IGNORANCE, you'd better KNOW this stuff! Good on yer, Scigirl! |
