I'd agree with you except she's the one posting this ludicrous threads in the first place.
Yeah, but I kinda figure that if she got no response at all, so that her threads never went anywhere, she might eventually give up. I imagine that being utterly and totally ignored probably wouldn't feed her ego much.

The fault of Laci that gives him/her away as either a troll or someone who really doesn't care about politics/sociology/war but has strong opinions is her inability to respond to coutner-arguments. People have debunked a lot of her comments with hard facts and sources, only to get either no response, a rude comment, or a smiley face and a "Liberals would do it worse!" style response.

It's pretty pointless trying to have a debate with her, but she is representative of the attitudes of most Americans. You try to debate an American who only uses Fox news and Rush Limbaugh as his frame of reference, he'll get angry and call you a lying liberal when you point out facts such as Saddam being a former ally.

Like others here have said, he will probably kill himself before we get close to him. I will still be in a little better mood that day, whether he is captured or dies in the process, regardless.

It's an important step to things turning out remotely decent over there right now. He must be taken out of the picture for good. His power, control, contacts, money and influence must come to a complete halt if this ugly process of nation building 'in our own image' is to move forward.

But, as I've repeated in other posts, we're currently finding a little cooperation with some (shia's) who could become our enemy when Saddam finally is gone and that could bring on a whole new shiite storm

For that, I won't have 'glee' until I see this occupation and oil looting end and our National Defense forces are home.

Of course they want you to "feel" they are close to "finding him" as this how they can keep one whooping it up for the home team as opposed to questioning the whole mess.

I remember when everyone said they "felt" like they "were close" to capturing Osama Bin Laden. What ever happened to him?

Unfortunately, there are just too many people here to all come to the agreement to stop talking to her, so she will never be ignored and I'm sure she knows it.

I still dont think that ignoring her is the best way to go...
This is still a forum, a place where people can post their views and have them seen by everybody.
Although we might not agree with her views or the way she makes her points, i dont think we have the right to deny her the chance of counter our arguments, just as we counter hers.
I still think that we can make a non-believer out of her, if we dedicate enough effort into open discussion, instead of engaging the "ignore" tactic.
If she prefers to duck every question we pose her, it is still her prerrogative, no matter how annoying it may be.
We just have to keep pushing, untill we find the right button.
Sooner or later, the truth will become self-evident, and she wont be able to duck it anymore.
Provided she stays on-line long enough, of course...

Laci, if its really your wish to engage in productive discussions in this forum, you know you will have to do your part, dont you?
It is very easy to inclose yourself in a "bubble", refusing to let anything in, other than what you already believe in. But that bubble will keep you from seeing the entire picture.
Taking things on faith alone, will get you nowhere. You need to find a middle term. Id hate to loose you so soon in the race!

While looking for something else, I found this Aussie guy singing about Iraq, complete with mp3. The Iraq Song:
Quote:
Now George Bush he's a brilliant man and Howard he's so brave
When they come on the TV I believe all that they say;
"That Saddam he is a evil man he has those poison bombs
We have to get him very soon before he proves us wrong"
