Lamma, you're throwing some serious generalizations out there.

Quote:
I think your first sentence is inaccurate. If it were then pollution would be getting worse and worse here in America. The fact is that it's getting better and has been for some time.
Care to back that statement up? The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has risen from the pre-industrial level of 280 ppm to 360 ppm, and 60 ppm of that increase has occurred since 1920. At this current rate, the concentration will double by 2100.

Quote:
Such policies should and are approached by conservatives with the idea in mind that the health, wealth, and comfort of human beings are paramount. Humanity must come first and everything else a distant "next" when assessing enviromental policy.
Examples:
The loggers in Northern California are causing mudslides that are compromising the health, wealth and comfort of the communities around their logging sites. Where will we get our wood from after the remaining 3% of the redwoods are felled?

Cows drink enormous amounts of water. Yet we feel it's essential to keep eating beef, even in the desert sw, where there is a perpetual water shortage.

Quote:
Future decades? Look back just 30 years and think about how far we have come in terms of environmental awareness and action.
The worst pollution is long behind us and I think I'm safe in saying that conservative are glad for that.
Whew, that's a relief. We can all drive suburban assault vehicles when and wherever we wish, with no regard for environmental consequences. Even in circumstances when public transit is a perfectly viable alternative. This is assuming that carbon emissions really don't cause air pollution, which is what you seem to be saying.

You suggest looking back 30 years. Take a look at Bush's environmental record, and how much this country is regressing.
