Greetings:
If some very powerful, extremely intelligent 'being' landed in Times Square and announced that 'he' was 'God', how would we know that it really was 'God': that which 'created' the universe, sacrificed his 'son' to redeem the human race, etc.? Great power doesn't mean 'all-power', great knowledge doesn't mean 'omniscience'. Basically, any 'God' which provided evidence isn't 'God' (evidence is finite, physical, natural). At the same time, no rational person needs to believe in a 'God' for which there is no evidence. And so it goes... Keith. [ December 12, 2002: Message edited by: Keith Russell ]</p> |
