Well, place your bets....It seems the odds are infavor of humanity wiping itself out. Have any of our areas of technological development not gone horribly, horribly wrong??

I saw this news magazine report on bacterial resistance (I think it was 20/20). It had a segment on something used in Russia and Eastern Europena countries called "bacteriaphages". Apparantly these are viruses that attack specific bacteria, and only those bacteria. According to the report, this stuff is old medicine, having as much to do with herbalism as science.
