You all realize that Rover was originally supposed to be a white volkswagon beetle? It was supposed to be a robot car. Unfortunately, it sank in a river during shooting. So then they came up with the idea of the weather balloon.

I watched the Prisoner on some station in New York, and after the episode a guy would come on and actually explain the episode for the audience.

This was c. 1992, and probably a New York City public television station.

You could also seek out the Simpsons episode where they parody the "Prisoner".

Sounds like Eva without all the rawking mecha fights and titties. In other words, LAME.

Tried watching it, didn't care for it; my opinion is more or less that of Cecil Adams, who wrote

Why people get worked up over this absurd show I will never know, but it has attracted a cult following since it first aired as a summer replacement on CBS in 1968.

Yeah, The Prisoner is a kickass series, but let me give you one word of advice. NEVER watch this show with a stoned Art History major. The constant artistic deconstruction will distract you form concentrating on the plot.

I know this from experience.

If you look closely, you'll see I said "Sounds like..." Think about this for a second, and the answer to your question will come to you. Hopefully.

I love my Prisoner DVDs! Although I wish I'd waited for the megaset instead of buying all the individual two-packs...oh well.
