And the third option is, God exists, and Jesus was ressurected from the grave.
Since as demonstrated to you in another thread that if a god exists he must be either evil, or incompetent, or irrelevant or some combination your point appears most unpursuasive.

Still waiting for that archaeological evidence. . . .

Waiting. . . .

Waiting. . . .

Arrow sorry, otherwise occupied

DMB,

"BGic: When are you going to post the reasons that make you 95% certain that Jesus was resurrected?

I think you should have added another category to your poll: "Other view".

I wouldn't want to sign up to any of the choices on offer."

Patience friend. I just had my firstborn son arrive. An amazing, profound experience; to see the light of everlasting consciousness in his eyes was a deep experience for me. He's now keeping us busy. So, no, I haven't presented a case yet. This poll is not without utility though, it is telling me where I should start when I do. And when I do bring out talking points, they'll likely come in parts rather than en masse. Patience, it'll be a good discussion when it begins. Take care for now.

Regards,
BGic

BTW, I see there's an intense love-hate relationship with my comrade Magus55. I'd ask you all to remember the GuF (Gang-up Factor) and modify your expectations accordingly. Remember, it is he and I who are here, out of our "comfort zone," not you who are at TheologyOnLine or some such site.

And note that you're both here voluntarily, and should not be surprised that your views and assertions are hotly contested on this site. What else should you expect on a forum titled "Internet Infidels Discussion Forums"?

Lightbulb Moderation in all things except moderation

Mageth,
"And note that you're both here voluntarily, and should not be surprised that your views and assertions are hotly contested on this site. What else should you expect on a forum titled "Internet Infidels Discussion Forums"?"

Fair enough. Hotly contested? Expected. 10 separate demands for absolute "proof" --- all now, now now! (?) Chill. GuF in effect.

BGic

It is easy for a Christian to feel ganged up on on this forum. But that comes with the territory. And should be expected by any Christian dumb or brave enough to come here.

Only thing expected from atheists is the acknowledgement that numbers do not really make right------numbers just give the impression that that is so.

Unfortunately, it works like this . . . suppose this was a physics forum . . . to get in the mood, put on some horn-rimmed glasses and pretend your only outlet for your sexual frustrations is Magic™: the Gathering [He is still upset he was molested by an introductory course of Vectors for Simpletons.-Ed.]

So, I do not like Relativity . . . all that stuff about not going faster than the speed of light rather cramps my ambitions to seek out new life and new civilizations and bodly split infinitives.

I enter the board and proclaim that Einstein was wrong. Period.

Naturally, the various members start demanding I demonstrate some "evidence."

I complain I am being "ganged up."

My evidence appears to consist in proclaiming that the other posters are ignorant of real physics and sexual repressed and smell . . . do not forget about smell.

This, for some reason, generates a rather angry response from some.

So I complain at how I am being treated.

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

More serious example: I am skeptical that "secret" Mk is legitimate. I would like to see the actual document and have it properly studied. However, I am also ignorant of much of the literature on the subject. So, I do not bother trying to discuss the subject with Yuri because he knows a hell of a lot about it. Frankly, I do not care enough . . . if I did I would research the subject with appropriate responsbility--I may end up being convinced.

In other words, to make grand proclamations on a board devoted to a subject, one has to be prepared to analyze the evidence--all of the evidence, not just stuff we "like."

Failure to do this will generate a less-than-cordial response, particularly when it is coupled with petulence.

Sigh, for me it wasn't pretend, for four frikkin' years I barely got laid, and spent most nights fine-tuning decks for weekend tournaments. Now I've retired and sold my cards, and having a healthy sex life. [Ahh... I love happy endings - Ed]

Once you put them down . . . wash your face . . . wash your clothes . . . brush your teeth . . . walk outside . . . it is amazing you can accomplish!
