I would say it is, because it's not quite accurate. The evidence supports just as well the claim that humans themselves are nihilistic, authoritarian, and amoral, driven primarily by the need for power over others' minds and bodies, and willing to do anything to reach that goal.

In both cases, there are exceptions, but the exceptions don't catch your eye as much, because they leave you alone.

Fallacies and misleading generalizations aside, the central problem with Christianity as a functioning philosophy is its exclusivity. That's where the perceived arrogance comes from.

Now if there's a "liberal Christian" around here that will deny Christianity's exclusivity, that might be interesting.

I have never been able to get theologians to agree on what exactly the exclusive part is. Many of them seem to have internally inconsistent sets of rules. Me, I punt and admit that I have no idea.
