Starboy is correct. As engineers, before deciding on a design, we first should have a look at the design criteria. If those are fullfilled while emplying the minimum of resources while achieving the deisgn life time ,its OK.
What was the design life time and what was the functions required. What were the available resources, and how much did it cost to achive the result. We should also check whether all possible cheaper and/and or better alternatives have been exhausted.

As far as I can tell, from a Christian perspective, it was designed as part of a god praising machine. In that case all a-theists are defective units. Over time the failure rate appears to be increasing. I guess god screwed up.

DS: That's quite funny! But...

The brain was designed as insulation for your head

DS: It was thought for a long time that the brain's chief function was to cool the blood. Aristotle's idea. He also thought that the seat of reason was in the chest, since that was where the voice originated.

and your head is just an elaborate hat rack. So, your head is just to keep your hat warm.

DS: Once read Voltaire skitting when he said that one of the purposes of the nose was to keep spectacles in place.

Then a creationist actually used that argument on a board like this one a few years back! LOL. And these people want to take over the school boards! LOL!
