How can you provide references to prove a negative?

I'm pretty sure the Sierra Nevada should be added to the list. It's also exposed to it's granite core. The reason granite wouldn't have fossils is because it's an intrusive igneous rock (also called plutonic). It comes from molten lava that pools deep underground instead of coming to the surface. So there can't be any fossils in it.
