Just a shot in the dark here, but does anyone have any info (review) of this book or its author, Robert Spencer? So far as I understand, the book portrays Islam as a religion that is 'easy' to hijack and thus inherently prone to the kind of evils you hear about associated with it (terrorism, mistreatment of women, etc.).

I'm reticent to read the book just yet, because there seems to be a slant in it and knowing as little as I do about the subject, I wouldn't know where to start with it.

So...

Are there any good discussions out there about the pros and cons of Islam, that offer some kind of a balanced view or sources? Thanks for the help to anyone who volunteers it.

makes crackpots as powerful as sensible folks. Most mullahs are nutcases. Islam can easily degenerate into rule by the worst segments of society. It is like communism in that respect.
