Default Hello

Hello. I am Ihmhi. My handle is an acronym. It stands for I Have Mental Health Issues.

I live in Newark, New Jersey. I just failed my junior year in high school and I will have to repeat it. I don't care, I'm going to get superb grades this year.

I go to East Side High School. The school is usually very accepting of people as a whole. I am part of the "out" crowd. People in the out crowd are just like the quinttisential (did I spell it right?) "in crowd", except we have a realistic (i.e. atheist) view of the world. That and most of us wear black.

This year I'm going Goth. Rather, I've used that term inaccurately. Goths by nature are free-thinkers who in general study religion, even if they don't practice it. They also don't dress like weirdos all of the time. Because Goths are free-thinkers, they don't conform to societal standards and therefore can wear literally whatever they want. Although I'm a Goth, I'm wearing light blue jeans and a grey shirt right now. Soon I will get some pitch black clothes; I feel comfortable in them anyway and they match my dark personality.

I believe religion was created to control the world by a few smart people in a time when everyone was generally uneducated and somewhat gullible. Sadly, it has persisted in many forms for thousands of years and caused more harm then benefit. Need an example? Let's just say that there are two really big towers missing (that I had visited and REALLY liked, mind you) that were destroyed because of fanatics in the Middle East. Religions in general are bad and it is our charge as atheists and skeptics that we stop it from further poisoning us. The only good religions are ones that don't follow a creator god and encourage people to improve themselves, like Buddhism.

That's all I have to say. Why did I write this stuff? I wanted to introduce myself and tell you about my world views. If you don't like them, or think that there's something wrong about them, then tell me. I'd love to hear about it. But don't try to convert me to your religion; I'm too smart for that. Thanks I.I.!

Welcome! (er, and it's quintessential - literally the fifth essence after the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water.)
