I think it's more the ocean, not water itself, that represents Chaos in many myths. |

I'm assuming that if a boat is found up there, they'll take it as proof that the story is real, so I'm wondering: Does that work both ways?

Few things would amuse me more than if this puzzling mountain-side object in Turkey turned out to be the remnants of a giant wooden sign that says "Christians suck".

In Coriolanus the woman that pulled the strings from behind the scene was called "Volumnia" for this reason. Valeria was valor and Virgilia was virginal chastity of the conscious mind. |

Strangely enough in kindergarten we had a speaker come in (I was attending private school at the time) and tell us that they had found Noah's Ark and that he had seen it. WTF? Of course a room full of 5 and 6 year olds believed it.
Seems like the story that someone had just found Noah's Ark circulated every few years through the different churches that we went to (along with crazy stuff like "photographic evidence" of the Ark of the Covenant buried under Golgotha complete with human blood that had dripped down on it that genetically proved that the blood came from a person born via divine means ) It is amazing what kinds of utter crap otherwise intelligent people will believe if it supports their religious beliefs. The thing should be easy to spot from space; it'd have to be bloody HUGE!

So, they're wasting more money to run this sattelite to search for a myth.
Incredible. I want someone to give me a bunch of money to search for the leprechaun with the pot of gold. Wait a sec, if they give me the search money, I don't need the pot of gold! |

The nation whose major contribution to the modern world has been computer viruses has announced plans to build a Noah's Ark as a tourist trap, er, attraction.
Bulgaria to build a Noah's Ark It is to be built in a Black Sea resort town. It is only going to be 112 meters long, and will contain pairs of animals and actors representing Noah and family. The rational is that some think that flooding the Black Sea was the basis for the flood legend. Quote:
