If you're playing games, then yes you are justified. Other than that, you are either deluding yourself or others.[/QB]
Exactly a person that deliberately partially blinded himself and then claimed that he did not believe in color would be deluding himself.

"Who do you think you are?" Answer: I'm a human, a subset of simians, on a third planet orbiting an average star within a galaxy, among many of the same in all cases.

"Why do you think I "suck my thumb" so to speak." Answer: Suck whatever you like. I don't remember mentioning any sort of Linus complex in characterizing you.

"And how are you superior?" Answer: (to paraphrase O Brother Where art thou?) Superiority is a human institution.

George Carlin (from memory): Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man who lives in the sky, who watches every thing you do, every minute of every day...

So now you are playing games. Another poster compared my belief in God to thumb sucking you objected to my reply. So I ask you what you think and no you conveniently have no idea what I'm talking about. I guess the rational dialogue is over because you don't want to engage.

Excellent example of what I don't believe.
proves my point that God does not exist to you because you cannot concieve of the concept because you limit yourself to physical reality i.e "Man", "sky", etc.

Ok, but what does that have to do with my own posts?

What other reality is there, Geotheo? Astral reality? God's Grand Reality? MTV reality? You are begging the question here. What reality is there aside from that which we can commonly perceive? As Rudger Hauer said in Blade Runner, "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe." The difference between he and I is I realize I recognize the power of my own imagination. You seem to me to be a slave of your own imagination.

Greetings:

And, GeoTheo, how is it that you aren't 'limited to physical reality' like the rest of us atheists?

Is it 'cause you say you aren't limited, that makes it so?

Keith.

Here's a better thought experiment:

I've taped a picture of Jesus to the inside of my eyeglasses. Now I see the face of God everywhere I look.

Am I justified?

No. But to be a philosopher you have to give things a fair hearing. You have to accept that the point of view might be one that a rational person could hold to. You don't just reject things out of hand because they contradict your world view.
I think Metaphysical Naturalism causes one to do that. Everything is limited to the Natural and everything supernatural is relegated to the realm of absurdity. There is really no basis for critical examination. People decieve themselves into thinking they have critically examined the issue but have not. If I don't believe in a cartoon Sky Daddy, then you really have not examined what I believe. So you are making a judgement of somthing you do not understand.
