Good work. Too bad the editors of the extended list didn't use yours as a source. I mean, when has an atheist referred to C.S Lewis as "that traitor"? I didn't even know that he used to be an atheist until christians stuffed it down my throat...

Exclamation

Well, some of them I actually do/agree with, some were funny, and some outrageous (strawmen). Then I went to the home page (link is at the bottom of the page) and checked out one of the topics, and there, at the top of that page was:

Tekton: Building Blocks for Christian Faith

That explains a lot!

This ROCKS!!

I am a confirmed fundy atheist...more importantly, I don't believe in fairy tales, so that is uber cool!

This knowledge separates me from fundy theists who run around bumping into walls because they cannot perceive reality as it is presented to them by their nervous system, in favor of some unknowable and vague plan for humanity ala George Lucas...ROFLMAO!

...and this is supposed to be negative...in what way?!

Jeremiah ~

19:8
And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.

And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.

vs.

We are committed to the application of reason and science to the understanding of the universe and to the solving of human problems.

We deplore efforts to denigrate human intelligence, to seek to explain the world in supernatural terms, and to look outside nature for salvation.

We believe that scientific discovery and technology can contribute to the betterment of human life.

We believe in an open and pluralistic society and that democracy is the best guarantee of protecting human rights from authoritarian elites and repressive majorities.

We are committed to the principle of the separation of church and state.

Nope...not much of a difference there.

ooofah...

PS ~ Yes, I know...but, the difference remains...aint it cool.

He was never a real atheist.

Yeesh. Neither the original link nor the antidote page on fundy Christians are funny. Besides the mean-spiritedness in each, they're just too lengthily bogged-down. They'd each have a lot more zip if they picked just a few of the truest (or at least most plausible) zingers & left out the garbage.

Of course, the anti-atheist list is much less funny, since it's what, at least five times more top-heavy than the anti-Christian one? ...

Which are mine? Well very few actually, most of the insertions in my list were suggestions from friends that I approved of. My contribution consisted mainly of editing out stupid ones already in the list. I think 15 and 26 were entirely mine though - based on extensive experience on these boards!

Well I've found the original list as it was before I got my hands on it specially for you. (Actually now I look thorough it I question my previous judgement in choosing to remove certain items)
Well your "improvements" are feeble assertations at best. At least the original number 15 was an attempt at humour.

Some are good but most are BS. I have a particular beef with the following:
Quote:
You assert that the 300 Protestants put to death under the reign of "Bloody Mary" in 16th century England stand as absolute proof of the inherent evil of Christianity but the tens upon tens of millions killed by Marxist regimes under Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot in the 20th century have absolutely NOTHING to do with the profound atheism inherent in these regimes.
Yes, of course, never mind the fact that these guys killed fellow atheists and communists.
Quote:
You descended from apes.(Think about it.)
Giving that the guy can't distingish the difference between descended from apes and co-evolved with apes, it seems someone else should do some thinking.
Quote:
You get angry when Christians tell you you're going to a place that you don't think exists.
Oh my, nevermind the fact that it is almost always used an insult or as a way to leave a debate.
Quote:
The only Commandments you know are the ones that are unconstitutional.
7 out of 10 isn't bad.
Quote:
You not only spell "God" with a lower case "g,"
And the problem is? *sigh* I'll quit now since my eyes are dizzy from rolling too much.
