It is claimed there are five hundred different denominations of Protestantism. There must be a reason
there are so many choices. I see a correlation of these various Christian sects with the gambling habits
of compulsive gamblers who frequent Las Vegas.
In order to draw gamblers to Los Vegas the casinos have to offer the games preferred by compulsive
gamblers. Some like to shoot craps others like the one arm bandits, some like the roulette wheel. In
addition, there are many other varieties of gambling the casinos offer to suit the pathology of all
compulsive gamblers.
We often hear about Christians shopping around for an alternative church that offers them
their brand of neurosis. The fast growing sect of Christian Fundamentalism is meeting the needs of a
certain group of people who can identify with this neurotic religion.( perhaps in the simplistic and
puerile nature of this religion)Christian Science and the Jehovah witnesses, and the mind numbing
religions of Mormonism and Christian Science are good examples. Each person who changes their
family religion replaces it with a religion that satisfies their particular neurosis.(This includes those
who want to be part of a popular cult or the in group) Those that stay in the religion of their birth
stays in it for a neurotic reason called habit(brainwashing or indoctrination ) not a religion of their
choice.
Religions offer escapism into a fantasy world that mirrors Delusional paranoia. Each
person grows accustomed to except their particular brand of pathology.(religion) And it is only
atheists who understand this pathology.(those of us who have escaped from religious indoctrination)
