Had to fill out a brief survey or two to get the cash, but it's not the first time I've tested products.

Mt. Dew and Slice are the only Pepsi products that I usually go near.
Seconded. I'm now a Diet drinker, and I'm addicted to Diet Vanilla.

(BTW, vanilla tastes *fantastic* in Dr. Pepper)

Then again, I'm a southerner..we love our Coke. I remember when, at a meeting, our managers announced we (theater chain) were changing to Coke...big cheers all around.

Okay, okay, so Barqs ain't the greatest (I only drink it if they don't have A&W or Henry's). Still beats that watered down taste of Mug. I will drink Sprite or 7up if and only if I am not feeling well. Sierra Mist is awful. Mt. Dew if they only serve pepsi products (Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC).

Sounds interesting. I will buy a local Coke today, and I'll try to find an American coke, so I can taste the difference. But I still prefer Pepsi.
Another big problem with American version (at least where I am) is; No glass bottles (other than 10 oz), all plastic. I suspect your Pepsi also has sugar.

Drink up!

That's crazy talk, all non-diet sodas have sugar. You mean in the States, they don't?

yup, no 'sugar', instead it is 'high-fructose corn syrup', a sweet substitute that makes manufacturing easier (and is cheaper). Unfortunately, it changes the taste.

The high fructose corn syrup tastes "sweeter" so they can use less, saving money and it is cheaper to produce. It doesn't have to be refined to a crystaline form, it is a syrup.

edited to add: 75% sweeter

Pepsi rules. My dad drank so much of it, he got a benign tumor.
No amount of booze can make Coke taste good.
The crisper drawers of my fridge are full of soda. I've got:
Pepsi, Mountain Dew Code Red, Mug Root Beer, Slice Orange, Dr. Pepper and Minute Maid Pink Lemonade.
Life is good.
You *do* know that Minute Maid is a Coke subsidiary, n'est ce-pas?

And regular sodas have corn syrup. Diets have Nutrasweet.

Am I the only one who HATES Mountain Dew Code Red? Actually I also hate Mountain Dew. I'll take a Crab Juice please.

I did try the Mountain Dew Livewire, it was pretty good, but it just tasted like an orange soda.

Pepsi sucks because at the places they own (Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut), they have started to serve only Pepsi products. I didn't care about them switching 7up for Sierra Mist, because it tastes pretty much the same to me. What pissed me off is they don't make a drink comparable to Dr. Pepper like Coke does with Mr. Pibb (Or is it Pibb Xtra now?) So all the Dr. Pepper is being replaced with Wild Cherry Pepsi. I worked at a Pizza Hut last year in college and we used to have Sunkist, 7up, Dr Pepper and Hawaiian Punch. Pepsi bought out all the drink contracts with our chain of Pizza Huts and won't allow anything that isn't made by Pepsi anymore. If this hasn't happened in your area yet, it will, because the plan is to have all their places to offer only Pepsi products. I was a waiter and every single day I was constantly asked for Dr Pepper, and had to explain why we didn't serve it anymore. Most people assumed Dr. Pepper was made by Pepsi, some didn't believe me. When the change was made Pepsi sent out cards with responses we were supposed to give when someone asked for a Dr. Pepper, telling them that "If you like Dr. Pepper I'm sure you like Wild Cherry Pepsi"
