4. I intend to hit the weights again soon. I used to play volleyball at a reasonably high level and I'd like to get back there.

Well, good for you. Although I should say "Bah, so what? 30? Try being 40 and just starting out on a B.S. in Physics" but I won't

I posted 10 facts about me but they were really 10 fatcs about human beings. So here are 10 facts about me, off the top of my head.

1. I'm both an atheist and an ordained minister.

2. I recently played in the Table Tennis nationals, and won my first two rounds before being eliminated in the third.

3. I have written one novel and am about a third of the way through a second novel. As an undergraduate, I won first place in a playwriting contest and won $50.

4. I once kicked myself in the head and had to get stitches.

5. Some years ago, I found out within the space of a single week that I had broken the ribs of two different opponents at two different martial arts schools -- one of whom was much smaller than I. I was so upset about it that I couldn't bring myself to spar again for over a year afterwards, and only then because my instructor urged me to.

6. I'm the only one in my immediate family who doesn't have the title of "Doctor".

7. I'm a home theater addict. I'm so addicted that I like going to audio/video showrooms and amusing myself by noting how much my gear is than the crap they sell there.

8. I've recently fallen in love with carpentry. I've made a shelf for my DVDs, a coffee table, and an armoire. However, I didn't measure my apartment very well and discovered that I couldn't physically get my armoire into the intended room. Instead, I looked at where it was and concluded with a sigh, "I guess it looks good in this room."

9. I don't know why my S.O. puts up with me, but I'm eternally grateful that she does. She's even amused with my home theater addiction. I'm extremely fortunate, and try to appreciate that fact at least once a day.

10. A Jehova's Witness cold-called me recently. I looked at my watch, realized I had some spare time, and said to myself, "Why not?" After thirty minutes or so of me throwing Biblical contradictions and theist paradoxes at her, she was trying to end the conversation. It's the first time I've heard of an atheist outlasting a Jehova's Witness.

11. I'm really bad at counting to ten.

2. I was a competitive swimmer for many years, and I once beat Matt Biondi in a flip turn contest (we were on the same high school team).

3. I have been a certified SCUBA diver for over 20 years, and my favorite dive spot is Bloody Bay Wall in the Cayman Islands.

4. I have a cat who is FIV+, diabetic, and nearly blind. He is 14 years old, black, and is the coolest cat in the world. He says his name when hes upset.

5. Ive been to almost every Raider game since they returned to Oakland.

6. I develop spacecraft simulators for a living.

7. My parents were divorced for twenty years and recently remarried. They have each been married 3 times, twice to each other.

8. My heart is permanently broken.

9. I recently spent nearly three hundred dollars on a joystick that makes my computer crash when I plug it in.

10. I spent the summer between my first and second years of graduate school living with a stunningly beautiful woman in a condo on the beach and teaching calculus to life sciences students. I think that the high point of my life has come and gone.

Oh, I'm going to try now.

1. I'm born into a family of seven girls, no boys, and am the second oldest.

2. I'm 5'4" tall but manage to beat up my cousin who's over six feet everytime I see him. I love to fight.

3. I want a punching bag so I can see how hard I can hit. Where I am, its considered unpolite to punch people this hard and my mom would yell at me if I broke something.

4. I once broke a window by throwing a playing card at it. (8 of diamonds).

5. One of my relatives was considered of the most intelligent people in the world. I only met him once in a wedding though. Not sure of his name.

6. Although I have a fighting streak, I'm a very generous and kind person to animals. Humans, on the other hand, I just tolerate.

7. I'm planning on publishing a book before I turn 18. I'm writing it over the summer. How hard can it be?

8. I like writing free-style poetry. The shorter, the better. Art is my other favorite.

9. I am an recovering neopets addict. (www.neopets.com. Do not let the look fool you, it can be very dangerous)

10. I'm planning on learning at least five languages. I already know english, vietnamese, a little spanish, working on french, and japanese.

11. When I was in fourth grade, I tried out for the all state choir. My older sister of one year tried too. The judge had confused our names and sent my older sister thinking it was me.

PS I was bitten by a shark on a foot once when I was 11 and thought that I couldn't walk on it so I hoped on the other for at least two weeks after they stiched it. My parents thought it was 'cute' so they didn't tell me how stupid I looked. :banghead:
