AS far as I knew, I have been criticizing the bastards in the White House. Last time I checked, they aren't fighting on the battlefields, so I guess I'm doing fine then.

Wink My wife is always right

I'm pretty sure the cliche goes "Behind every great man is a great woman." I'm not even close to greatness, but I figure the phrase still holds true for mediocrity "Behind every mediocre man is a great woman."

So, I asked my wife what she thought the statement "support our troops" meant. She summed it up very distinctly: to never again subject them to the public disdain with which they were subjected during the Vietnam conflict.

And, she leaves it at that; with no explanation. I just love her self-confidence and self-assurance. Say what you believe and let others stumble with the meaning.

Good for her. She expressed it a lot better than I did.

If anyone is interested in a way they can show their support, here's a link to send your thanks to the US military "for defending our freedom."

http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html

According to the site, over 10,000,000 people filled out the form so far.

Anyone know if other countries have a similar website?

A relatively conservative columnist in the Chicago Tribune says:

Does dissent have a place in wartime? Playing patriotism card is shameless.

A really good read.

Everyone defines support differently, in WWII it was support the troops, give up your pots and pans to make ammo.... Sometimes it's "support the troops, bring them home"

So for me, I'll always "support the troops." By that I mean I have overwhelming respect for these guys who sign up to possibly die for this country (whether this war is about dieing for this country ot dieing for oil is another thing). I know I don't have the ball to sign up... So thats how I support the troops. Moral Support. I sit in my safe, warm american home... watching my big american tv, cheering everytime CNN says the troops are doing good.
Just like the Superbowl, huh?
