I'm just bitter because I can't hear a decent political discussion or have one with someone without a load of quoting false sound bites, rhetoric, or just plain crap. I listen to PBS news hour to get some semblance of political discussion. But that's even getting lame.

I'm left with emailing my friend in Washington, DC and that's too slow. Last time I saw him in person we got horrible looks from the people in the restaurant while we talked. You know being lefty Republicans (i.e. Democrats).

America is getting to a point where the nastiest wins. The Democrats are being too intellectual and assuming people care about the truth. Hire a teenage male prostitute for the president, smuggle him in and take some pictures. That's what gets attention.

People have come to expect lies from politicians so that's not very shocking anymore.

If the US had 80% voter turnout I think it would be easy to beat Bush & Co.

Don't believe the polls. If they didn't like the results they wouldn't publish them.

OK, boys and girls, lads and lassies, lets hear your opinions. Regardless of who gets the nomination from the Democrats or Libertarians, its undoubtedly going to take a keen campaign strategy to cut down the shrub in 2004. Soooooo, aside from who to run, whats your take on the plan most likely to be successful? What issues should be emphasized?
The continuing inequalities in wealth distribution. The regressive tax system. Lack of universal health care. Excess military spending. Lack of real campaign finance reform.

None. The Dems should buy some guns before they try and stick to them though.

I voted for some minor, forgettable candidate in 2000. (Not Nader!) What a waste. I know better now. I'm sure those of us who were somewhat apathetic then will actually take the next election more seriously. But will those of us who learned a lesson be enough to turn the tables?

We'll see. During 2000, Nader suggested that it might be better if Bush won because then people would see how bad the country would be and more would vote in liberal politicians. It didn't happen in 2002.

I agree with all the underhanded techniques listed. Is Rove a happily married man? Perhaps he could use some lovin' from a professional. Or maybe send in a reporter on a covert operation against Rove. I've read one negative thing about Rove. A reporter visited him for an interview, and was waiting in the hall outside his office, and listening to him speak to someone on a phone call. He heard him scream, "We're gonna fuck him so hard. We're gonna fuck him like he's never been before," regarding a political foe. Then he greeted the reporter pleasant as could be.

Hmm, nah. Americans don't care about that stuff. Only sex scandals get their attention, I believe.

Although, the assinine opportunistic move to hold the Republican Convention near 9/11/04 in NYC has got to be a blunder worth a few votes to Bush's opponent.

Sure, there's all the lies about the WMD, ties to corrupt oil executives, reducing taxes onthe rich at the expense of the poor, dumping the economy into the toilet, trying to roll back civil liberties, and all the other stuff that doesn't matter. But those things don't win elections. We need to lie and deceive and make unfounded accustations like asking Dubya to reconcile his Christian faith with the long-term homosexual relationship he's been having with Pat Robertson. Throw them off balance, so they'll be caught off guard when we rig the election and get our guy installed as president through a corrupt Supreme Court.

That's how you win elections. Or don't let Americans vote. They've shown that they don't know how to handle it.
There is not enough bandwidth on the internet for all the :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy that post deserves.

They've been complaining about Rove's tactics for too long without doing anything to counter them. Someone mentioned Carville. He's quite a loudmouth himself and the Clintons are friends with half of Hollywood; why doesn't he have a radio show?

Ask people how they like it that their 401k is worth peanuts and that their kids need to move back in with them because they can't find jobs.

Ask them if the federal tax breaks are really making any difference for them since State and local taxes are going up.
