Do you have what it takes to pass 8th grade (American) math(s)?
Take this quiz ! No fair using a calculator! I got 18 out of 19 (and I was close on the one I missed) NPM |

I attempted the test but got bogged down on number 2. I voted 'I can't remember all that crap' but 'Too lazy to do math' would have been a better choice.

I have a complete and utter math block. I could learn any language but the language of numbers. Every time I take a math class I have to spend almost all my time out of class at the damn math lab getting help. I looked through the questions and just got more depressed than I already am.

So I guessed wrong on meaning of congruent...
IF I had looked more closely at the possible answers, I might have picked the right one ![]() BTW I did them in my head, no pen & paper, or calculator

I got 16/19, but would have gotten 18/19 if I hadn't been rushing. I was pretty impressed with what I remembered, considering I'm an English major, through and through. The one I really got wrong is because I forgot that circumference = pi * d. I got it confused with area = pi * radius, and on the one requiring that formula, I wound up estimating the area using right triangles.

19/19, but I would hope so...that ten years I spent earning a B.S. in mathematics ought to count for something.
![]() I did use a scratch pad for several. For some reason, after calculus I lost all ability to do arithmetic in my head. Bookman |

No pencil, no paper, no calculator. I did however use the biblical value of pi and got the right answers on those questions. Praise the Lord! |

I haven't actually used a calculator for years (lots of computer simulations, but that's different; I haven't used a calculator for direct computation for years). |
