Cindy would yell "Sinner!" at any women wearing pants or shorts. Jed would introduce himself and begin to shake your hand and would pull it away and ask "do you masturbate?" before shaking your hand. They were dead serious in their ministry, yet they've provided many a college student with hours of entertainment. I mean, you can't write comedy that funny. I saw them on TV once, on the Sally Jesse Rafael show. They were so obnoxious on TV that Sally said they were the first guests she would never welcome back under any circumstances.

Anyway, having fun with campus street preachers is almost a rite of passage. At the University of Georgia, they used to sell a T-Shirt with the "10 Things One Must do at UGA". One item on the list was "Heckle the preachers at Tate" (Tate was the student center).

Anyway, typical street preachers are so far off mainstream and are completely insulated from logic. Attempts to dialogue and debate are almost always futile. Regard them as entertainment as I think they do more of a service to nonreligion than religion.

THOUGHTfully Yours,

Ahh yes. Brother Jed, aka Mr. EEEEJACULATION, and his trusty sidekick, Sister Cindy, whom he impregnated, then left his wife and married her, IIRC. Of course he had to EEEEJACULATE to do so. They use to come by our heathen Episcopal campus over 20 years ago, and they were definitely an amusement. Sister Cindy had just joined them that year and was very shy. A fraternity brother of mine asked her what she did before she joined the troop. Her response: "I was a whore." Let me give you ladies out there some advice. Never tell a semi-drunk frat boy that you are or were at one time a whore. Poor Cindy, he was just begging for a trick from her. "Please pretty please, do a trick for me? How about just a blowjob? Did you ever do that as a whore?" Even I felt sorry for her after the vicious attack by him. Those were the days. They are however, completely beyond reason or argument. IIRC, Jed claimed that once he became saved, he was perfect and never sinned. All the time he was diddling Cindy. They came back the next year, and she was not so shy anymore. Yelling and screaming at us heathens. Of course, I didn't think fundy women were supposed to preach?

I think though that your advice is best, ignore them. That's the only real way to piss them off. The problem is not enough people will do so. They are just too damn entertaining.

I poked fun at Brother Jed one year when I was on campus as an undergrad. Then I found out that my Shakespeare prof and my music composition prof were both fundie whack jobs. Found out the hard way I should have kept my mouth shut. Let that be a lesson for ya -- whatever fun you have, it ain't worth some fundy on a revenge kick with real power over you.
