I ws just discussing this with Captain Ochre, he of the many non-sequiturs. I found a great set of lecture notes on the development of German anti-semitism. It had nothing to do with evolution and long predated it. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I've read "Mein Kampf". From what I remember, he speaks very little, if any about "evolution"! He does mention "fixity of kinds" and in an earlier edition, he said that the earth was only thousands of years old.
Yikes!

I'd love to see a quote of that. Does this mean that Hitler was, not merely a Christian, but a Young-Earth Creationist?

Getting back to Sarfati's/Socrates' original idiocy, I think it's based on the notion that evolution doesn't say anything about morality, hence all atrocities are consistent with evolution. This is about as noteworthy as the fact that Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden all had facial hair which, unlike secular humanism, is consistent with their conduct!

Creationist logic in its finest. :banghead:

This is a similar article that we thoroughly eviscerated on another site. Looks to be a bit more abridged than the AIG article in the OP, but implies essentially the same things: that evolution is responsible for everything bad that has happened since Darwin published Origin of Species.

Try here.
Quote:
The first edition of Mein Kampf indicates that Hitler was a young earth creationist at the time of its writing; it says, "[. . .] this planet will, as it did thousands of years ago, move through the ether devoid of men." (p. 65) (The second edition substitutes "millions" for "thousands.") Other passages further support his creationist leanings, for example:

The undermining of the existence of human culture by the destruction of its bearer seems in the eyes of a folkish philosophy the most execrable crime. Anyone who dares to lay hands on the highest image of the Lord commits sacrilege against the benevolent Creator of this miracle and contributes to the expulsion from paradise. [Hitler, 1939, p. 383]
The rest of the site is good, too. It exposed many of creationism's claims.

Sorry, but this is the best I could get, unless someone has an older version of Mein Kampf around? (not that I expect this crowd to! )

And Sarfati is a consistent false witness.

Just suppose that Hitler was a convinced evolutionist.

So what???

I expect Hitler thought the earth rotated round the sun rather than vice versa. Would Hitler's acceptance of this belief do anything to invalidate it?
Any argument of the form:
 • Hitler believed X;
 • Hitler was a mad baddie;
 • Therefore X is erroneous.
is rubbish.

Hitler was also a vegitarian.

The next time you see someone at the salad bar, be sure to check for swatikas.

In this case, the argument is more of the form:
 • I dislike X;
 • Therefore Hitler must have believed X;
 • Hitler was a mad baddie;
 • Therefore X is erroneous.

This may be an urban myth. Not the most objective source, I know....
