Marketing purposes.

God was wailing away in "Heaven" and heaven was all that was.

The angels got bored after 100 billion years of doing Gods work, they wanted to do something on their own.
God agreed, and whoopty Earth was.
But to sell the idea to teh angels God said, that they had to have the opportunity to experience bad things or "evil" things. God experienced both at all times, but the angels couldn't see that.
God said that God would inspire some people to their divine heritage, so they could keep on striving for the Good that God ultimately was/is. God also said that he had to strip away their memory, or at least make it appear so, kinda like an illusion. So they had teh thought that they did somethign on their own.

Heaven is what we strive towards
Hell is what strive we strive from

Edit: We need the motivation...or needed perhaps

We stand in teh middle having to choose, our lot in life is to choose.

I dunno, you asked I gave a possible interpretation.

Is it true?
You tell me

And what proof do you offer as to the inspiration of whatever writings the Orthodox have or do they have any, being that they don't believe in the Bible? Which brings me to another question. If you don't believe the Bible, why do you quote it?
Also, does the Orthodox church have writings outside of Bible scripture say that they are inspired of God?

Outside of Christianity, not one religion actually states that it is inspired like the Bible does. Not one claims to be the one true religion like the Bible does. Only the believers of a religion say, the writings themselves do not. This is because the author of the writings were not inspired by God, but by there own wants of a belief system.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This seems logical as it was the Church that wrote the Bible and decided on its books and interprets it etc not vice versa. We are also supposed to obey the spirit not the letter, which makes squabbles between inerrantists about exactly what a verse says because they think every word is the Word of God, quite laughable. Also, people almost certainly become Christians for whatever reasons and then value the Bible because the Christian Church teaches it. Comparatively few people read there way through every bit of ancient literature, then say "it's clear to me that the Bible and only the Bible is the Inspired Word of God" and subsequently become a Christian.

Virtually everyone quotes verses that look like they support their point. Whether or not they actually do is sometimes difficult to decide.
In this case, I don't see the problem. There is no real context to Jeremiah's statement, so it can hardly be "out of context".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is always a context.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would also note that some scholars theorise that Jeremiah was responsible for writing the D source (ie Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Sammuel, Kings) and that he wrote it in response to (and against) the P source (ie Some of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus). This would make a lot of sense given Jeremiah's statement against the Scribes who tampered with the law.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are some who theorise that the universe will swallowed up by a black whole, what's your point? I really don't mean to sound brash, but it just shows that your using something you dont believe in to challenge anothers belief without authority. If you wish to quote, use whatever your belief system uses for reference.
