Default If it weren't for bad luck....

If it weren't for bad luck.... I'd have no luck at all.

So, I just got out of the hospital. Again.
While working Sunday evening, I began to feel an unbearable pain in my lower right side. I like to think I can bear significant amounts of pain, but this was something bad.
It got worse, so as soon as the shift change arrived, I headed over to the ER to have it checked. Where i was admitted for emergency surgery, appendicitis. The doctor decided that the pain was bad enough to rate Morphine in generous quantities, so I guess it hurt.

So, one useless organ lighter, and several IV antibiotics heavier, I sit at home for a few days to contemplate my lot in life.

My postings will be sparodic, and likely drug-induced.
Ever heard of Hydrocodiene? Pretty good pain killer, I suppose. I'm seeing trails when I move stuff.

Wow Dark Jedi!
I'm glad they took care of it quickly; it sounds like it could have been dangerous.

Have a swift and complete recovery (well, not complete enough as to regenerate that useless organ...)!

Yabbut, you caught it and you're going to be OK now. That's not so terrible.

Plus, you got some rocking drugs. Haven't had hydrocodiene, but I've gotten morphine before, and I enjoyed that just a little too much. Mmmmmmmorphine... Man, I wish I had appendicitis.

Feel better soon, and enjoy your new streamlined guts.

no, you do not wish you had appendicitis... it ain't worth the trade-off.

My guts are definately more aerodynamic. they pass gas with far more efficiency than ever before.

The pathology report came back, the appendix was not infected, it was dead and dying. Scar tissue in the region had cut off it's blood supply, so it was dying. The pain was the live bits complaining about having dead bits nearby.

Doc says it would have been very serious had it been anywhere but the appendix. My question was where did the scar tissue come from? I've never had surgery there, nor any major injury that I recall. Perhaps I now reap the benefits of the years that I fought whenever I could.
