OK, I will be, relatively speaking, an SOB.

GTX,

What do most Round-Earthists believe?

No need for gravitational discussion, or any actual facts, just the basics.

Hopefully this sounds silly to you, as it should. Please compare to what you wrote....

Thanks simian for your irrelevant rhetoric.

Starboy: Thank you very much, that was a great explaination on the view of the subject, I appreciate it.

Michael, scigrl: Thanks to you too, that explains a lot.

I suspect there are other variations on the basic beliefs of evolution also.

Why don't you post your beliefs instead of trying to make yourself look K3WL?? Which you failed miserably.

Moderators: Can you delete simians irrelevant post? And my responses to him too? Or should we let it stand to show what value he brings to this discussion? Obviously others think it is a good question and topic. Thanks to those that are giving their views.

I thought the post was fine - if you don't want to reply to it, don't.

In fact, I often use other creation myths to illustrate to YECS how their beliefs look to us. Their reply, "well that's totally different."

You are welcome to delete your own posts at any time however - just hit "edit" (the pencil icon), then delete all the text, and hit the "edit" button.

We here at infidels moderate less than many christian boards you may be familiar with.

No, but I'm not really big on your reply to Simian. I didn't see any direct personal comments, but I am seeing them from yourself.

Perhaps Simian was trying to point out that calling what we have learned about evolutionary theory and mechanisms "beliefs" is no different than calling acceptance that the earth is not flat a "belief" (which kinda duplicates what I had said above.)

But Simian did not criticize you personally, just your phrasing of a question. Your response was personal and sounds vindictive.

Yes, I realize that, but you yourself said it was an interesting question, and so did others, what simian did was try to derail the thread by making my question look dumb, which according to you and others was a good question.

Yes he did criticize, I asked a good question which in no way can be relative to his rhetoric. Evolution is largely unproven and incomplete and is still a theory. Round Earth is a known. So the comparison is ridiculous at best. However I will out of niceness for my fellow man remove my mean comments.

You just lost all your credibility right there, GTX. There's as much proof for evolution as there is for a round earth.

Please, please try and look up the scientific definition of "theory" -- you are just embarrassing yourself with this kind of basic error. A colloquial theory may be just a guess, but a scientific theory is a comprehensive explanation for a wide array of facts; belittling something because all it is is a theory is like sneering at a mountain because you heard it is just a pile of dirt.

And while you're at it, grow up a little bit. So far, it looks like you erupt into a petulant little hissy fit with the mildest provocation.

I was editing, sorry, The fact that the Earth is known to be round 100% is a known, evolution has a few differing theories, like branching, bush theory or whatever, Evolution has not become a 100% known and is not an exact science YET.

How is my credibility lost? Just the fact that other posters in this thread have posted a difference in beliefs is proof that there are differing views and therefore proves evolution is not an exact science yet. There are still some unknowns.

Now back to the topic, if anyone is interested.

Whatever, so you believe evolution is a 100% known? It is as complete as knowing the earth is round? If this is true, why are there different theories as to how we actually evolved? There are unanswered questions regarding evolution.

Obviously just my presence on this board and my interest in evolution should prompt members to answer my question and not compare it to irrelevancy. Some peoples responses are just plain rude.

Make a case for evolution, not resort to attacking my motives. I am interested in this science, and the wonderful members who view evolution as truth. I do not think it is dirt, I think it is interesting. Thanks
