Amie said: I am trying to get on the same page as you guys, really.

Sure you are. Like a heat seeking missile. You scoff at my invisible Tootsie Pops. What does your god look like so I can perhaps scoff at yours. Where does this god reside?

Maybe God is in the center of the tootsie roll pop. The 3 licks are representative of the Trinity.

I have never seen God so I don't know what God looks like. I believe that God resides in another realm. Heaven.

Actually Amie, I think this is a great example of how you can point out that something barely defined at best has inconsistent characteristics. You don't have to believe in invisible pink unicorns or to have them well defined to know that 'invisible' and 'pink' are contradictory characteristics.

(Whoever thought it up probably knew that...I think they were making fun of theism...sorry...)

Anyway in the same way, nontheists can pick up on two things they are told about God and say "I think they are contradictory". They don't need God to be well-defined to do that. They only need to have heard enough to have found what seems contradictory to them.

And so, in effect, you could say nontheists are laying out a challenge "if you want me to believe in God, then define God without contradictory characteristics - or how can I?"

This seemed relevant to me...if it's not really, I apologize...

Hi Amie... (((( Amie))). So do I. Describing a spirit is impossible.

Why? If I had the thought police after me every day of my life, I would certainly want to see who it is...

Hi Kally... that is if you consider God to be your thought police. It is not my case. So the concept of a spirit is fine as far as " morphology". I need not to have a picture drawn of God to relate to Him. That is the mystery of faith.

The real mystery is how so many people in the year 2003 believe in imaginary sky creatures that were clearly invented by primitive, superstitious bronze age goat herders.
