Wow, that Jim Bob Duggar guy sounds pretty scary. Glad I don't live in AR!
From this disturbing article, (<a href="http://www.quiverfull.com/13children.html" target="_blank">web page</a>) I read: Quote:

There's a small chiropractor's office i pass every day on the way to work, and the little sign is dominated by the jesus fish. Why deliberately exclude a large client base? I don't know but when i see it, i just imagine a dimly lit interior with instruments made out of twigs and lots of frogs in cages or something. Maybe some leeches to help with the bad back, i don't know. State of the art care is not the impression i get. But, it's not my business or my business to complain i guess, except here.
Now, the magazines i work on have bible quotes every issue, and it's something that bothers me. Our website is graced with a large christian fish, and makes me uncomfortable because i don' t want people to a) not advertise with our company for legitimate anti-discriminatory reasons and b) assume i'm a thumper because the company i work for is. But, again it's none of my business. So be it. |

Sullster, I can't remember ever seeing a fish on a sticker but my first reaction would be that it represents a scorpion. So my advise to you would be "when you see a fish think scorpion."

The point of this thread is the proliferation of the these utterly obnoxious people's use of the fool fish in advertisements for businesses. The company is christun'. Whoopee!! Amos, big concession here, which I am sure you will make me regret. To your Catholics' credit, I don't see idiotic symbols anywhere that say the guy in the car ahead is a Catholic. Like wise, I have yet to see a business that advertises with the Pope's face, at least not outside of the North End of Boston,(and they usually have a picture of Frank Sinatra next to it). The dear little fundy protestants are so friggin' obnoxious. This is the one and only thing we agree on in religious matters. I guess that is kind of cool. |
