Any really huge injury to the body will result in a correspondingly huge release of natural painkillers (endorphins?) but methinks that decapitation would instantly remove the pressure source for such a release (i.e the pump or heart as it is normally called) so wouldn't decapitation be pretty much THE most painful death?

When I reach the point where I am finally ready to call it quits in this life, I'm going to spend my life savings and have a swimming pool made and then fill it with hot, molten steel. Then, I'm going to stand on the far end of the diving board, run to the end and do the best darn gainer flip I can. I love diving, but I can never muster the balls to do a gainer because I always imagined I would either hit my head on the board, or land smack dab on my back. This time, the pain of a fucked up flip will be the least of my worries.

Not true, I�m afraid A-M. Mere paracetamol overdose is a pretty certain method, but also horribly slow and consequently painful, because it causes liver failure. It�s normally broken down by the liver, and large quantities destroy the organ, much as with alcohol but more readily. So any analgesic effect will long since have worn off by the time your liver fails completely. And beware: doses as low as 4000mg (just 8 standard tablets) can do the trick.

So you are saying I should stop putting paracetamol in my screwdrivers! Damn, they should put warning labels on the bottle. Oh wait, they do.

I destroyed my liver years ago and apart from the strange skin colour I seem fine.
