It definitely does happen all across the nation, but mostly in the illiterate, bigoted states of the Condederacy. No offense.

They aren't illiterate. That's the problem. They have been educated AND conditioned since infancy to believe in the supernatural. Then the cult ministers/priests brainwash them into a perverse and obscene form of Christianity. Meanwhile this evangelical administration keeps the flocks fearful and agitated...everywhere.

The Master Manipulators of these flocks are brilliant propagandists. They have neutered our free press behind the greedy control of the giant corporations. Our Congress is the best that those CEO's can buy. The State Legislatures have been captured by religious and financial mavens using stealth and deception.

...but mostly in the illiterate, bigoted states of the Condederacy.

Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvannia, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota....just to name a few Union states that are in the current AU headlines.

Actually, not necessarily.

Look at the trends, at who is always doing the bad things. The Baptist cult must die. Christianity without the Baptists, is generally tolerable.

I emailed the story to Bill O'Reilly. He is constantly attacking the ACLU for suing public schools that attempt to Christianize themselves in ways he regards as trivial. For example, the ACLU sued a school that attempted to change "Winter Break" to "Christmas Break" on its school calendar. He criticized the ACLU for not pursuing more important matters but he completely ignored the school board's obvious motive for the change. No spin zone my ass! Of course, I don't understand how people like O'Reilly don't get that allowing for one completely unnecessary exception leads to Christians to pursue more exceptions which begin to add up and ultimately will be the excuse Christians use to secure a big exception.

India was repeatedly attacked as she knelt in front of her bottom-row locker. Her head was bashed at least 10 times, cutting her lip, above her eyes and bloodying her nose.
In Australia (and I presume the USA as well) that is called assault. If young India was my kid, I'd be pressing charges faster than these "loving Christians" can say the Lawds Prayer.

Scumbags.

It happens in the illiterate, bigoted states of the North West.

Goddamned right. What's more, the abused Baptist girl and her parents would become instant heroes and champions of religious freedom (not to mention huge fundraising fodder for crooked evangelists).

Here, however, the kid and her family are Pagans. The abuse that girl has put up with to date is but a drop in the bucket compared to the shitstorm that's coming. In the slightly altered words of The Clash, "Non-Christians have the right to freedom of religion, as long as they're not dumb enough to actually try it or to enforce it in a court of law." That family is in for a rough ride.

If only that were true. Some of the stuff that goes on in Ohio's public schools would make even the most rabid neo-Confederate lunatic wretch.

Alright already! There are illiterate bigoted people in every state, probably in every nation, too. Let's stop this stupid "my state/area is better than your state/area" banter!

And now, back to the topic at hand ... (((((India))))) Poor girl. Yes, BigBlue2, it is assault, I agree. Hopefully they've documented that.

No, me either. I agree too, that it's precisely these "little" things that will later balloon into larger things if left unchecked. You know, I've got money still from my birthday that has gone unspent, and I've started thinking, maybe I should use that for an AU, FFRF, or ACLU membership. Perhaps all! If I ever have some decent disposable income, I'll become a lifetime member (usually costs on the order of $1K).

PS. Edit to add memberships to these type organizations are usually tax-deductible!
