Thanks! I was really begining to feel lonely after my post. I even copied it to another string.

The various definitions for "Christian" was discussed in great thoroughness in several other forums. However, I feel sure that you noted that I said "entrance" exam. If one does not believe in the supernatural miracle of "resurrection," then, IMO, all those other descriptions are just some much "window dressing" to explain to the myriad of Christians why they can be Christians even if they don't believe all the things for sale in the window.

No matter how one describes themself according to that list, if they don't believe the miracle of ressurection, they aren't a Christian. They might be a Jew, but not a Christian. They might be a Jeffersonian Deist, but not a Christian. However, one thing that they all have in common is that they believe in the supernatural...even if selectively.

This girls salvation is on the line and this is what you come up with? So IMHO you are saying that she is a predestined girl for hell (by Christian beliefs) this poor child comes for help in the last place she could look to find someone with a strong foundation, seemingly finds a person she could come to and this is the **** you give her? I thought "brothers and sisters in Christ" help eachother and hold eachother accountable for what its worth no matter who the person is, no playing favorites this is very disheartening for me. and for all its worth I am in no better position to help this girl myself or else I would.
Keep you chin up and eyes toward your Savior, child...

David: This poster may or may not be a girl, may or may not be fifteen years old, may or may not be a Christian & may or may not be honest.

I suspect that in reality the "little christian girl with doubts" is in reality an atheist and that is why I am advising "her" to remain as she is.

Sincerely,

David Mathews

David: Perhaps I should have said it differently:

I have reason to believe that Tricia is an atheist and I also suspect that he/she is not portraying himself/herself in an accurate, honest or trustworthy manner.

Is that better?

Love,

David Mathews

David: This is not a matter of doubt or suspicion. I am speaking a fact. Tricia is an atheist, may or may not be a woman and certainly is not fifteen years old.

I can't perceive any reason at all why I should {i]save[/i] Tricia from his/her own doubts. Tricia didn't initiate this thread for that reason.

Tricia is content with his/her atheism. Need I say more?

Sincerely,

David Mathews

At least the Christians on the ILoveJesus.com boards prayed for her. Tricia has been around these boards for a long time. We know her and she has been going through a major crisis in her life for the last 2 or 3 weeks. All you can do is dismiss her as an atheist? How can you claim to be a Christian?

I think you might be suffering from demon possession.

IF SHE WAS CONTENT WHY WOULD SHE ASK FOR HELP????
DO YOU EVEN KNOW THIS POOR GIRL??? WELL GUESS WHAT I DO! SHE IS MY BEST FRIEND! IN FACT- She is a Christian she is 15 and she is a girl more than you shall ever know! I dont certainly appreciate your knowledge of certainty for anything! I am ashamed to think of myself Christian when one like you is such a disgrace to the religion.

As much as any one of us can know the truth about any other person on a bulletin board, I can assure you that from what I know of Tricia, you are incorrect in your assessment of her.

When she first began coming here, she was pretty firm in her religious convictions, in fact she was rather annoying to many of us (sorry Tricia).

Over the past few months she's been discussing, learning and finding friends here. Now she is beginning to question her faith. She has gotten no good answers from her church.

As a consequence, she is feeling lost. I can't know for sure, but I really don't think she was baiting you, David. I think she was hoping you might have something worthwhile to say.
