Many problems throughout history have come about because one person or more believed they were speaking for and doing the will of their God. Yet, none of these people can produce one shred of evidence that their God exists. It's a tragic fact of human history.

Do Christians ever question why so many within their various ranks seem to get oppossing messages apparently from the same God? Nope. They just write it off and say they're wrong because it doesn't agree with their interpretation or the interpretation of the particular denomination they belong to.

God cannot speak for himself because he is still confused about what language to use. Should be Hebrew, Greek, Latin or a living language? If he speaks in spanish would the Baptists accept it? If he speaks in English would the French accept it?

Hey all, I'm new here, but I'm going to try and contribute. I'm not really atheist, but I don't really believe in a god either, I guess the best thing I can say is I'm agnostic. I do, however, enjoy discussing with other people and I'll explain it the way I've always heard it which makes the most sense to me.

I was always told that with free will, God gives us the choice of what we do and do not do. He gave the Bible as something to look to and he sends people all the time to tell others what he's saying, it just so happens that no one really listens.

Now, granted I've just gotten here but I've been a little appalled by the way some of the "believers" have been treating anyone who doesn't believe. It makes me happy that the people I talk to care a little more about teaching than proving the other wrong

Just a note: if you don't really believe in a god, then that means you really don't belive in one, right? Then, sorry, but you're really an atheist.

I so grow tired of Bertrand Russel's little straw man of the atheist position. Knowledge of god's(gods') non-existence isn't nessicary to be an atheist, lack of belief in his/her/its(/their) existance is.

Your formulation is interesting. Out of curiosity, are you equally agnostic when it comes to such things as:

• naturalism,
• reincarnation and past life regression,
• UFOs and alien abductions,
• Wicca and the Green Man,
• Hinduism,
• the 'God of Abraham',
• Scientology, and
• Theosophy?

Put somewhat differently, is it fair to say that you don't really believe in naturalism in the same way that you don't really believe in God and the supernatural?
