I'm not going to suggest any contemporary texts. Maybe there are some good ones; who knows, life is short, and I'm not going to risk wasting my money on some politicized ID garbage.

Go back to the real sources. Read John Locke's Essay Concerning Human Understanding, where he argues for the primacy of Mind, and David Hume's Dialogues, specifically part ii where Cleanthes defends the argument from design.
