Default Praise report! ;-)

I just wanted to give an atheist's praise report. For the first time since I was a very little girl, I am truly happy. I am no longer depressed. I eat now and my eating disorders are going away. I am able to cope with things that would have previously driven me to suicidal thoughts. I no longer feel as I am a worthless sinner, deserving of nothing and I no longer pray for death, seeking the escape of heaven. I enjoy life. I love living. OI have never, ever said that before. I know things in my life may suck, but I now see them as a challenge, only to enrich my life. I don't see all my adversity as a trial by fire from god and I don't just sit helplessly begging and praying for it to end: I actually try to solve my problems now. I know that I've whined so much in this forum, so I just wanted to give my praise report.

I'm so happy for you Blondegoddess. It is liberating to be free of the dogma.

Be proud of your achievements BG! It's tough digging yourself out of the dogma and taking charge of your life but it's SO worth it.

I too had the experiance of mental health issues melting away when I became an atheist. It was the constant pressure of fear of hell that made me crazy in the first place.
