Nof -
I have been on vacation and need some time to catch up, but I will take a moment to address your point about reading about certain things in the French media. I read about those first from an Israeli/Jewish/Palestinian organization that I receive regular updates from (gushshalom.org) that I have previously posted. I also read about the American being bulldozed in the American media the same day, so in this case I am not sure there is a lack of media coverage. I do not see regular reporting in the mainstream media about the bulldozing of Palestinian homes, but neither do I look for it because I already have a reliable outlet for that information. I do agree that the US governmental position is lopsided and does not treat the Palestinians well at all. But again, I am disturbed by your "JEW" labeling, especially after I have provided you with a number of organizations that are Jewish and do not fit your label. The Jews are not to blame for the mess we find ourselves in, even if some people with influence (who are also Jewish) have managed to sway our government toward a specific agenda. In the end the responsibility exists with our own government and in the belly of our very human greed. However, it is no excuse for any unethical and inhumane behavior. I would also suggest you look into the relations in the town of Haifa (sp?) I believe (but I am groggy this morning) it is an Israeli town where Jews and Palestinians peacefully coexist inside the turmoil of inhumane treatment within greater Israel. I doubt the Israeli Jews of this town fit your bill either. I do not know exactly why the US government, specifically this administration holds the position it does, or even why the Israeli government acts as it does. None of it is logical to me, and it also flies in the face of what I hold dear: the judgment of the individual based souly on the merits of his/her actions without prejudice to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, etc. To treat the innocent Palestinian civilian like nothing more then cattle to be herded and controlled is horribly immoral in my opinion, but I also find it immoral to find all Jews responsible for the actions of a few, immoral human beings who desire power and control. Ones Jewish or Palestinian genetic make up does not make one an animal, a suicide bomber, supporter of immoral regimes, or desirous of anything beyond what an individual choses. If you cannot see a Jewish person as more then being Jewish (as your prejudices dictate), and if you cannot judge each person individually you cannot expect the "Jews" (as you label them) to judge a Palestinian as anything more then what their prejudices dictate. Therein exists that answer to your questions about the unethical and inhumane treatment of other human beings. Understand why you refuse to relinquish your prejudices and perhaps you will understand why others act as they do. Brighid |

Why not flush all the oil away in firey glory? It's going to be used anyway, may as well prevent Bush and his cronies getting to it.
