Hey, I ain't Magus, and predate his presence here by a couple of years and a few thousand posts.

I said nothing about the content of your posts, other than that you have started multiple threads with the same content on different fora. It's bad form to post the same thread on multiple fora.

Question Some debate...

Well, I decided to see what you consider "some debate" over the Gospel of Barnabus.

An initial search on the web gave me a bunch of pages where people dismissed it out of hand, and, in fact, used it as an example of historical forgery, when criticizing the Book of Mormon.

One of the more thorough references I found is this:

http://islam.itl.org.uk/barnabas/evidence.htm

There seems to be no indication that the G of B was created any earlier than the 14th century, long after the time of Mohammed. It contains medieval anachronisms which make it quite likely that the G of B is an historical forgery.

I tend to agree with you to some extent. For example why does G of B use the word winebarrels instead of the more appropriate wineskins. Why is Muhammad not named Ahmad. Isnt Ahmad the name by which Jesus addressed Muhammad? Why is the Jewish Jubilee 100 years when it should in actuality be 50 years? Yes G of B seems anachronistic. Indeed. However, we only have 2 translations of G of B. One in Italy the other in Spain. Where is the original G of B? Was there an original? Were the errors at the level of a translational or transcriptional nature? There are alot of questions that remain. However, the Gospel of Barnabus was cited by name several centuries before its repudiated 14th century uncovering. So what was this " Gospel of Barnabus" that was ordered to be destroyed? It is possible that G of B is a hoax....but it seems to mimic Gnostic themes and Dead Sea Scroll material in an eerie manner. Honestly, I am somewhat indecisive on this issue myself. But still, the Crucifixtion was challenged by many early Christian groups.

What exactly is the point River? Do you think we all should become Muslims, since we reject Christianity? Since this is an atheist forum, most here don’t even believe in the existence of Allah. I’m sure many don’t know much about Islam either (like myself), and neither do I want to know more. I’ve heard enough already to know I don’t want to be a Muslim. So good luck with Pillar #1 (witnessing) because first you have to convince us that Allah exists, then convince us that Islam is better than all other religions. And you know, I really don’t like being preached to, because it’s OFFENSIVE. What you are saying is that we have to believe what you believe, or we are not right somehow. And
that’s not cool.

So would you say you are a fundamentalist Muslim? Do you think the Quran is the Word from Allah / God? You know, the Muslim religion is just as false as Christianity. It's based on Judaism, which is false. And you also take from Christianity a little bit - by
believing that Jesus was a prophet. But most of us don't even accept Jesus was that. Jesus was just a man. And Mohammed? There's no reason I should believe that Mohammed got the Quran from the angel Gabriel. And you actually believe that Jesus is going to have a second coming and defeat the antichrist? Wow man.

I don't like the Muslim religion any more than I like the Christian religion. If you believe that people need to be Muslims, or Jews, or Christians, in order to be saved, that is silly. What happens if you don’t do the things your religion requires? What if I we don’t
become Muslims? What are you trying to say?

First of all, I am not a Preacher . You however, have fulfilled that category. Must I assume that everyone here is a "Stereotypical Atheist" similar to the likes of You. As, you clearly see this forum has hardcore Hindus and Catholics. So , whats wrong with having a Moderate Muslim on board? You find what I say, is OFFENSIVE. Good, then Just CLOSE YOUR EYES (just like you have been doing for the last few decades of your life). There are Atheists here that want to move away from God. There are Atheists here that want to find a reason to return to God. This Forum also has its share of Agnostics and Secular Humanists. You really think that everyone here is "Anti-Islamic". You say Judaism is false. Judaism in its original form is not false. With your Prudish Arsinine behavior, how do you expect anyone to learn about Religion. Islam is a growing religion..What would you do if your Husband or Daughter converted to Islam. Would you shove Atheism down their throats. I mean really , what would you do? As each day goes by, Islam will become more popular, and oneday you will have to face reality. Are you upset that Islam is the last remaining rival to Secular Humanism? Are you upset that Atheist has been declining in the last 30 years?

If I believe the Quran is the literal Uncreated Word of G-d would that make me a fundamentalist (As you have implied). Almost all Muslims believe this. A fundamentalist is one who follows the fundamentals or basics. I am also a Moderate, because I dont believe in extremes. However I am also "liberal" since I am not closed to one Paradigm. And I believe in Democracy since it is embedded in Islam. What are you implying? Will you soon say that I am a terrorist, because I believe Muslims in China have to stand up and have a right to practice their religion.

So you believe Caliph Jesus Christ's battle with the Dajjal ( the Deceiver) is a fairy tale. Human history has had even more fantastical episodes than this.

Did I force anyone to become Muslim? No, I havent. Islam is not a religion of Compulsion. However, if you voluntarily ignore Islam you are doing yourself a great injustice. I have studied Atheism, Secular Humanism, Neo-Darwinism, Neo-Fruedianism, and most major religions in the world before I passed an opinion on them . I am not CLOSED to any Paradigm. You, my friend, have a lot to learn.

Like what? And are you referring to real history of biblical/religious history when you talk about "more fantastical episodes"?

The Claim that Jesus Christ (pbuh) is a Muslim or say, a Jew is much stronger than the claim that he was a Christian.

I don't follow. What does mathematical probabilities have to do with your claim that there are "more fantastical episodes" in REAL human history than Jesus allegedly doing battle with this Dajjal character?
