That letter does rather assume that the only people who have ever molested children were priests. And I would assume that the children the priests most often came into contact with were male.

Most sexual abuse is incestuous, within a relationship or by friends or acquaintances of the victim. In the case of adult rape, "stranger rape" accounts for about 5% of the total.

It seems to me that people are, in fact, most safe in communities of total strangers. We should keep children away from members of their own families, and friends of those families.

I dunno whether or not that person had noticed, BUT, priests have far more access to young boys than young girls.

Of course they don't notice, because then they would have to admit that homosexuals doesn't equate to pedophilia and this would start to dismantle their foundation of hate and fear. No - not that!!!
