I can't tell if you agreed that ~p -> ~q doesn't follow:

p implies q
but,
~p does not imply ~q

IOW: I did not throw the baby in the water does not imply the baby is not wet.

The original argument being "If God does not exists, life has does not have meaning"

But this is clearly, to me, a non-sequitir because life having meaning and god existing are not sufficiently related.

I'll go this far with you: If there is no meaning without god, then there is no meaning with god either. (This works, I think, for any meaning of meaning that anyone wants to pick.)
