Angry ES&S conflict of interest

ES&S conflict of interest

Republican senator from Nebraska Chuck Hagel has ties which represent a grave conflict of interests. For many years he was CEO of a voting machine company. Apparently all his work with voting machines aroused his interests in actually becoming a politician. So, after securing exclusive rights for his company ES&S to sell electronic voting machines in the state of Nebraska, he cashed out, and he still holds millions in the McCarthy Group (a right wing fundamentalist financial organization which owns ES&S and the Omaha World Harold further, Ive been trying to substantiate some rumors of the McCarthy Groups involvement in violent and horrible criminal activities, as there moral authority seems to stop when it comes to profit margins).

Though his ties to the company he started looked like some typical stock-portfolio, the official executives still worked for him, and his election campaign in both 1996, and 2002 when he got re-elected.

He managed to win every single demographic group in 1996 (*which Id like help verifying independently of talion-). In 2002 voter sampling and exit polls showed nearly 50-50 split on votes, but it turned out to be a sweep, Hagel won with something like 83%. This actually happened in several other states, where exit polls were way off. I remember hearing Fox News running some kind of story about how sampling fails in the modern political climate. The runner up tried to call for a re-count, because of the exit polls, but as it turns out, there arent many actual ballots to count (20%). Further, somehow state law made it illegal for any person to look at any Nebraska ballots to prevent tampering with them before they go to the electronic counting machines. The recount request was denied on grounds that it is illegal for anyone to look at the ballots even to recount them.

Some old sources:

I cant find any new sources!!! Perhaps some of you could help me look. I want to find actual demographic statistics and how they voted. I want to know what came of the Senate ethics committee investigation. I want to find out more about the McCarthy Group.

Think this isnt a serious issue? Half of the electronic voting machines in this country are made by ES&S. Part of Floridas huge voting system overhaul.exclusive contract with ES&S.

I know Ive brought this up before, but if this was <insert any other first world country> the people would be outraged by such conflicts of interest. Im not surprised that it wouldnt come up the Omaha World Harold since its owned by the McCarthy Group, but it has stayed below the radar of most news agencies. It makes me ashamed I live here, Im disturbed more by how corruption here has such a huge negative effect on the world community while Ive sat idly by, and depresses me that I dont know what else I can do.
