It doesn't to me. "It", to me, has pantheistic, impersonal connotations: that God is an impersonal mystical force identical to the creation. I believe God is a personal being, distinct from His creation - transcendent as well as immanent. To quote J Gresham Machen: "between the creature and the Creator a great gulf is fixed". "It" has an impersonal, pantheistic flavour, whereas "He" is warm and personal. Quote:
