According to the Bible, men with damaged testicles or chopped-off penises couldn't take part in religious ceremonies.
How would anyone know this? I have a tentative theory that male nudity, or at least the exposing of the genitals, was a part of early Israelite religious rituals. Circumcision would make sense in this context: you prove that you're an initiate by showing your circumcised dick to the priest. |

That depends on how big the bird was.
A really big "pecker," like an eagle or hawk, could hold more text than a small one, like a finch or hummingbird. Heck, with a finch, you'd be lucky to get a letter on there.
Of course, maybe Hebrew or Greek letters are smaller than our standard English alphabet. |
