If you're talking about the original people living in SSW Africa, e.g. the San and related groups, they're not really very Black.

So in my analysis of the data, we are definitly descended from African immigrants moving out of Africa approximately 25 years ago and there were 7 women who passed on Maternal DNA to separate groups.
25 years, eh?

BTW, who says "we" are all white Europeans here on this II board? It might be mostly true given the demographics of web-heavy countries, academics, etc. I'm just saying...

Ah, sorry. We denizens of the II evo board pick apart arguments for fun, I guess we just can't help it.

Certainly no matter what way you cut it, we humans are all originally African not very far back. Whether or not certain european subgroups had a little more recent infusion of genetic material is a detail.

Good point. We really have no way of knowing how dark they were. Living so far south almost to temperate zones and ocean fogs, they may not have been "black."

Blush, cough, cough, gosh-golly. Yep, what is a comma and three zeros among friends, eh?

I am referring to historical Europeans of the last 2500 years since artists depicted Romans, Greeks, and Celts. The genetic studies do not include recent immigrant Africans, Asians, ? Turks?.

Its OK, I go through this treatment and far worse at scientific paper presentations to my colleagues who hope to find holes in everything I have done, and I do it to them. To Fundies who think that Scientists are regimented, unified thinkers, boyo they are bloody wrong. We as a profession are the most internally argumentative people in the world. Have you ever sat in on a Science meeting and research paper presentation. It gets heated, and presenters sweat like pigs.

Exactly, it is the two out of Africa Hypotheses. The older version is that we left Africa a million years to 500,000 years ago as Homo erectus to Europe, Asia, South India, and Australia, and each erectus group evolved into modern europeans, asians, Dravidians, and Australian aborigines in those locales.

The newer one, which I think has more merit is that, erectus did leave Africa 1 million years ago. Hence we have Peking Man and Java Man, but that modern humans moved out of Africa 100,000 to 25,000 years ago. They went to Europe and displaced erectus's descendent Neanderthal, and to Asia, India, and Indonesia-Australia where they displaced the long established but uncompetitive Homo erectus populations.

I was on the fence based skull bones alone. But the genetics swayed me to the recent Out-Of-Africa Hypothesis.
