Question Where do you get your news?

Just curious. I normally watch Fox News, MSNBC, and Headline news. I like Nick Cavuto and Brit Hume on Fox, and like Keith Olberman on MSNBC (BTW, did anyone else see his report on Dennis Miller writing for Fox News? He parodied one of Miller's famous "rants". The parody was right on, and I though very funny.)

Something about that skinny burnette on Headline news (I'm sorry, I can't remember her name), that I find very alluring. Her facial expressions are very sexy, and I like to watch her sometimes. Also, I find HN's style to be very engaging. The quick pace of the news is interesting when compared to a traditional style, segment oriented news program.

I also read FoxNews.com and MSNBC.com. I found a good source of under reported news on WorldNetDaily.com, but it is very conservative, and sometimes has a religious bent to its reporting that I find rather annoying.

They say that cable news is taking over, and I personally think that is true.

Yo, Dave...

The good ol' Beeb does not fit in any of those. However, I do not live under a rock!

I think you should have an OTHER category.

I get much news online, but NOT from the Ministry of Propaganda organs like MSNBC, but from non-US sources like Guardian UK and BBC and Guerrillanews along with a few US online sites like commondreams and buzzflash and znet and motherjones and thenation.

I also listen to a community radio station and hear Democracy Now.

It is amazing to see how different mainstream US media are from media in other countries. Mainstream US media have all become jingoistic rah-rah outfits beating the drum for war, and implying that anyone who opposes Bush is a traitor.

Goebbels would approve.

You make an interesting point. I consider myself to be an informed American and actively seek out news from various sources, to try to balance what I am reading to get a better "big picutre". I'm afraid I have to admit that I have never heard of most of those cites you mentioned (except for MotherJones and TheNation, but I don't regularly read either of those).

I didn't realize that talk radio (such as NPR) had such a large audience. I was under the impression they didn't really have too many people listening in.
