Thanks Father Pat.
Hahaha! So the godlies are right after all! Liberal christianity and science education ARE turning good children into godhaters.

Went to a Catholic Benedictine college for 3 years in late '70's (then transferred because of major) and evolution was presented as the status quo in biology. Also first heard of sociobiology there.

Did try to discuss my lack of belief with a nun there. Told me I was a hostile person.

Kinda, in its own special way. Besides, I was having a joke. I can't think of anyone who would actually hate god. Atheists don't belive in him and theists think he's the bees knees. Maybe a couple of deists? Anyway, the point is that 'godhaters' are a nonexistant fundamentalist bogeyman.

Shortly after the Justice Department stepped in, Dini changed the wording of his requirement for students seeking recommendations. The professor's criteria are posted on his Web site, ... He now asks students to "give a scientific answer" to the question: "How do you account for the scientific origin of the human species?"
Is this accurate? What was the wording beforehand?

It used to say,

"If you set up an appointment to discuss the writing of a letter of recommendation, I will ask you: 'How do you think the human species originated?' If you cannot truthfully and forthrightly affirm a scientific answer to this question, then you should not seek my recommendation for admittance to further education in the biomedical sciences."

So what's changed? The words truthfully and forthrightly and the phrase: "admittance to further education in the biomedical sciences".

Big deal. Or am I missing something?

You are right, DD, it is only a semantic difference.
