That's why you should keep a stockpile of small pebbles in your room.

At this point I'm starting to think the use of a cinder block might be justified...

yeah people need to be more considerate of others at night...same goes for incredibly LOUD music. I'm all for having a party but hey allnight??

I have a neighbor who works on his engine to his boat at odd hours of the night. It is so damn loud, inevitably someone calls the police on my street and he's back at it again the next week. He says its "too hot" to work on it during the day...sheesh people suck sometimes dont they?

people talking on cell phones while they drive, not paying attention to where the hell they are going
This was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the topic for this thread.

Also people who talk in theatres while the movie is playing. Occasional whispered comments ok, but a running commentary at regular conversation volume makes Walross want to SMASH!

Thats a good one Walross. I dont know why I get incredibly annoyed with people sitting next to or behind me that chomp their popcorn so damn loud at the movies. I always feel like asking them to close their mouths when they chew
I wish I was more patient with that chomping, it just bugs me...
I think in this caes I am the one with the problem and everyone else is normal!

...or when you're watching a film at home, and the company that already saw the film starts saying beforehand what's going to happen.

WHen I end up hurting the people I love, I piss me off btw.

1. Religion.

2. The aggressive ignorance that completely permeates the entire state of ND.

3. Idiot legislators in ND who refuse to repeal a cohabitation law, and have the gall to ask why young people are leaving ND in droves.

4. North Dakota State University's idiot president who wants to increase student enrollment at almost any cost.

5. The fact that I don't seem to have as much energy as I used to have.

Sincerely,

Goliath

Hi Amie,

yeah, I think people eating with their mouths open is annoying anytime - especially when you are trying to pay attention to a (hopefully) engaging movie. I don't think you are the one with the problem.

Even more annoying - I have a friend who is an avid film buff. When watching a movie, he will start quoting the dialogue a second or two before it's actually spoken in the movie. If he wasn't such a good friend, I would have killed him long ago...

ok you guys, this probably isn't the forum for this, but I know you're having some issues, and I think that the two of you have too much of a good thing going on to fuck it up now. Excuse the language. Best wishes,

Ross

Ignorance and bigotry. thats it. this is broad, yes. but really, im sick of discrimination, of any kind. when its not because i dress strangely, it because im gay. when its not because im gay, its because im female. when its not the female thing, its my age. people seem to think i can have no grasp of any kind of current events and their consequences simply because i have existed half as long. word of advice, if you can't point to iraq, or afghanistan, or israel on a map; if you think israel is sending suicide bombers to Iraq; and if you think Saddam flew the planes into the world trade Centre; do not tell me i cannot understand how the world works. and dont for a second think that "wait until youre out of high school and in the real world" is any kind of acceptable argument after i point out your mistake.

but i'm not just talking about me.

I'm talking about people ripping off a girls hijab because of the Iraq/Afghanistan situation, im talking about my friend being assaulted, beaten, and 10 people just walking by pretending theres nothing wrong. And then said friend being told she cannot report the crime because it would be considered racist for her, who was beaten for being "white trash", and her viola destroyed, to report a minority group in such a fashion.

everyday, all i can see is people hiding behind some assumed truth about human nature in order to justify their reasoning. The Bible, "homosecsuels r teh deval, it sez so in Leviticuz". "I dont care waht happens in this life, im going 2 hevan". Or perhaps about biology, men are better than women, because women are hormonal and cry a lot. Or even better, racial, "iraqis are mean dirty heartless people". Perhaps people who refuse to take care of those less fortunate because either it's a test of their belief in Jeebus, or because they dont want to give their money to "crack-addicts" as one member of II said a few months ago.

All of these get to me no end. Simple ignorance and bigotry, which seem to be inherent and ingrained in people, is the reason for my recent renouncing of secular humanism, and also the reason i want nothing more to do with this society. Although i am still bound to it, i am no longer a willing member of it and if i ever get the money, i will seperate myself completely from it.

from the Aztecs to the Pope, from the Pope to Hitler, from Hitler to Bush. Theyre all the same.

Renouncing sec... Okay first of all I didn't know they took members (hell I haven't got a clue who 'they' would be).

The bad shit in this world basicly reminds me how badly every positive contribution is needed. And I'm no good to myself or others when I'm feeling like crap. I usually put two and two together and cheer up.

Oh psst Ross, thx for the sentiments; I totally agree on the good thing... thing.
