Yes life is good.
My daughter landed a electrical engineering job in Seattle.
Her fiance also landed a job in Seattle.
The young couple who rent our house had a baby boy.
My wife and I celebrate our 25th anniversary on Wednesday.
My son is actually looking for a job.
So for the most part things are going well.

My life is extremely good right now.

I just started a new job today. After only a month of unemployment (one of which was spent in the Florida Keys not looking for work at all), I got a great position as a Senior Developer in a Payroll Software company. So, if any of you want more money, just say so and I'll tweak the program to give you a totally unwarranted raise. The job is a step up from what I was doing before, which is an odd way to find work in a slow job market - I guess the prospect of tax relief on dividend income really has spurred the economic recovery of the nation. Way to go Dubya! The job came just at the right time; I was progressing from the "Hey, I get to sit around all day doing nothing!" phase to the "Egad, I'm sitting around all day doing nothing!" phase of unemployment.

I have a beautiful wife who loves me and we're trying to have a kid now, which means lots of nookie for me!

Really, the only downside I can see in my life is that I have some inexplicable desire to learn which girl Joe Millionaire ends up choosing.

* I have a wonderful atheist boyfriend who loves me, too, and who thinks my opinions are valid. He is the best thing since Nutella, and he has a cute dog.

* I like my apartment better than anyplace I've lived since I was 17 years old.

* I just received the BBC radio production of LoTR in the mail: 13 hours of bliss, uninterrupted by any dwarf-tossing, elf-skating antics.

* The aforementioned boyfriend gave me the gift of Satellite Radio, so I can listen to just about anything I want, sans 12-minute commercial blocks.

*I was recently voted "Teacher of the Year" by the faculty at my school, in spite of holding strange atheistic views.

*This year has been my best year of teaching so far! I feel creative, knowledgeable, and in control.

*I'm letting my hair grow long, and I like it.

-Printed out my (non-official) transcript, and I have a cumulative 3.65 GPA.
-I only have the rest of this semester and one more year before I graduate from college.
-I have a group of friends online and a few offline who are all great and don't care what religion I am.
-I have a free weekend.
