Hmmmph! How am I supposed to know when something has been posted in this thread that needs moderating?

Gurdur: I'll trust you to keep me posted if anything needs my attention here!

Laat even van je horen. En waar je vandaan komt (of kwam).
Ik kom zelf uit Den Helder trouwens.
Ik ben er eentje, merkte je dat niet aan mijn accent?

Some of my favorite Dutch words/expressions from my time in A'dam:

all-time favorite Dutch word: lekker
I find it extremely hilarious that you can do all these lekker things:
eat
sleep
sit
go
identify an attractive member of the opposite sex
praise the food
live
the possibilities are endless!

followed closely by my second-favorite Dutch word: fiets
It is so cute, and versatile:
ik kom op de fiets (hee hee, sounds so funny)
wil je fietsen of lopen?
fietspadden (sigh, I miss them so much...)

honorable mention:
gezellig
smakelijk (eet smakelijk)
Scheveningen (I can say it! Honest!)
poffertjes (mmm)
grappig
natuurlijk
kwalijk
beetje
mooi
leuk

I just find Dutch endlessly delightful...

Default Best Dutch word

There can surely be no doubt that the finest Dutch word is "kikker"...

Doesn't 'lol' mean 'fun' in Dutch?
