It's not just the deep south. It happens in Oklahoma too. Only it's not "I'll take a Coke...by which I mean a Sprite." The actual exchange is:

"I'll have a coke."
"Which kind?"

It is extremely difficult to cut down on my intake of Coke. While I don't experience any obvious symptoms of withdrawal, when I actually see a bottle it is almost a religious experience. The effort required to tear myself away is considerable. Of course, I am attempting to cut out caffeine entirely, and that can't be making it any easier.

Diet Coke for me, and I also really like Diet Vanilla Coke.

I actively dislike Pepsi, which has an aftertaste that reminds me of the taste of dishwashing liquid. I'm not sure why I think that, since I've never tasted dishwashing liquid, as far as I know.

Coke is winning, followed by Guinness (I'm sure guinness would be winning if this weren't a Coke/Pepsi poll) ... Pepsi trails.

For once, my opinion is with the majority!
