Question washingtonpost.com site hacked?

http://www.washingtonpost.com

It appears to be down.

Replaced with another goddamn advertisement for Burst media.

Anyone know anything?

Sounds like you got Gatored. Some website or spam you received has installed ad software behind your back, which hijacked your browser. Try looking here for help: http://www.pchell.com/support/spyware.shtml

If it wasn't that, then another way to accomplish the same thing is through "DNS hijacking," which means that the DNS servers at your local ISP have been "hacked" to give you the wrong IP address for washingtonpost.com and direct you to the ad site instead. Although I agree with Autonemesis that spyware is the most likely alternative.

Speaking of the Washington Post, I found a few decent political articles there:

- Teamsters Endorse Gephardt for President
- Will the Real Howard Dean Please Stand Up?
