Did I mention sex? Their are many kinds of lust, all rooted in selfishness, What counts as "selfishness"? I often see this word used as a content-free insult. which is what brought the empire down. Now way in Hell can a populace suffer leadership under the likes of Nero and Caligula and not pay the piper. Except that the Roman Empire's western half continued to exist for the next 400 years, and its eastern half for the next 1400 years. |

In seriousness though, I say leave off...There is no amount of logic or common sense that can derail the thoughts and beliefs of fundies, or bigots. You are wasting your time, with pseudo-reasonal Magus's... They are not worth the time or effort, and all it's doing is wearing you out. Do you honestly think, that after the last several pages of them spewing the same rhetoric(repeatedly...ad-nauseum)...IN THE FACE OF EVIDENCE CONTRARY...that you are going to get anywhere with either of them? Leave them to their narrow beliefs and move on. |

Kimpatsu: "Homophobe" is someone who suffers from homophobia, just as someone who suffers from agoraphobia is an agoraphobia, and a sufferer from arachnophobia is an arachnophobia.
dk: Very good, I corrected your spelling errors. Kimpatsu: Debate with me and double your vocabulary! Learn two more words! dk: Great! Kimpatsu: All phobias are irrational mental diseases. That's why they're called phobias. dk: If all phobias are mental diseases, then why don’t we just call them mental diseases. Why? because a phobia describes a particular type of cognitive disorder. In ----© 2003 by Merriam-Webster it says, phobia: an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation. Lets look up homophobia: : irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals ----- ibid. Homophobia was founded by Gays, as a slang term based on psycho lingo, in the late 1960s to malign anyone critical of promiscuous anonymous anal sex, to label them neurotic. Homophobia really isn’t a medical term of course, just slang to dehumanize political opponents. Kimpatsu: Do you advocate medical treatment to "cure" homosexuality? dk: Actually the term homosexual is a very recent term coined by Freud in 1892, in his theory of narcissism. “Freud returns to his discussion of the repression of homosexual desire as a major component in the formation of the ideal ego. He suggests that the persistance of homosexual libido results in a pervasive sense of social guilt, which for him explains a number of features of mental illnesses such as paranoia and the paraphrenias.” ----- http://maven.english.hawaii.edu/crit...rc/guide8.html . In 1973 that American Psychiatric Association voted to removed homosexuality from the DMS-II list. Truth stranger than fiction this was just 7 years before the hiv/aids epidemic broke out in gay communities. |

What people disagree upon, is "why" Rome lost the ability to field an army. In other words... Why did Roman families become unwilling to serve and protect the Roman Empire. With the exception of Britain, one might ask the same question of Old Europe today, and in this sense, the US has become Europe’s techno Barbarians. So the real question becomes, why European families can't raise enough people willing to serve and protect Europe? Its a dicey question. |
